I'm Liz and founder of Flockbywild, the home of premium and unique fashion accessories that are handmade from up cycled luxury designer silk ties and dead stock fabrics, adorned with exquisite details. I founded Flock as a creative outlet for my lifelong love of fashion, textiles, pattern and colour.

My career has been working as a Sculpture Conservator in leading Cultural institutions in Australia and the USA, Including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Art Washington DC and currently the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane Australia, also widely publishing and presenting academic papers locally and internationally. Working mostly with Indigenous Australian and Contemporary Asian and Pacific artworks and artists I am inspired by their ingenious use of materials, colour and texture as a way to present their culture and ideas.

I have always been interested in repurposing available materials including bird feathers from my son's pets and dead stock fabric from my personal sewing. With a vintage Hermes tie gifted by a colleague, I discovered how luxurious and durable fabric can be turned into stunning fashion accessories. The vivid colours, intricate prints, and textures of vintage ties inspire my designs, allowing me to craft unique, one-of-a-kind handmade pieces that beautifully juxtapose and contrast patterns. Each accessory tells a story, celebrating both craftsmanship and creativity.
